I'm a medical student and getting a new car. I have narrowed it down to the two cars listed in the summary. I am getting married in 14 months and probably wont have kids for 4-5 years so the two seater isnt a huge deal. any suggestions from current owners etc

Leaning more towards something sporty or luxurious?

350z = slightly more sporty
G35 = slightly more luxurious

G35 is classier and sexier... and 4 seats. Plus like Ronin says everyone has a 350Z.

thats odd b/c here in saint louis all I see is G35s. probably literally 10-1 ratio. I've been on the lookout for about a month now. another reason why i was leaning toward the Z.

do you go to SLU by chance? what year?

id have to go for the g35 cause the z, upon closer inspection, doesnt look that aesthetically pleasing.

G35 coupe. It performs just as well as the Z and has the added bonus of a glovebox! :Q :roll:

Another vote for the G35 coupe for better looks and more comfortable ride.

A 2 door G35 is one sexy car. Almost sexy enough for me to make love to. Grey with peuter wheels....mmmmmmmmmmm.

G35 is clearly superior, and clearly more expensive. Take your pic based on that. g35 may have better resale, but infiniti has among the best for customer service, while nissan's is among the worst (this according to jd power and anecdotal I've read), so I'd go with infiniti just for that. You'll get a lender car when you take it in for service with infiniti, for instance.

I think I see more G35s as well, but it's just a better car.

The G35 is gorgeous and the 350z looks like a fat woman.

Will you be paying off BOTH student loans and car loans? Unless you are one of the few who has med school paid for, you sure you want to dig yourself into such a large financial hole?

With that said, I'd go with the G35: 4 seats, more luxurious, not much more money, higher resale.

If you're a med student, I hope your fiancee is rich, because you won't be able to afford one of the cars you've selected on a resident's salary...

Even more sporty - z track edition. It all depends on what you prefer - comfort over performance.

G35 is definitely sexier.

BTW, how does a med student afford a new car ? Aren't you in great debt ? Or did you pose nude as a female somewhere ?

Get the G35. It has much better quality interior materials. I haven't driven the Z but I've sat in them, they do feel kind of cheap by comparison. I have driven the G35 and it is a very nice car.

It depends. Are you talking about the 350Z? Or are you talking about the 350Z Roadster? I'm kind of torn between the Roadster and the G35 myself but in the end the 4 seats in the G will probably win out for me.

350Zs are notoriously plasticky, and have a terribly cheap interior. They are also prone to transmission problems.
