I actually bought this thing 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten around to posting pictures of until now. I was hoping to wait another 6 months before buying a new car, but the right one came along at the right price. What do you think?

I still have my two older cars that I need to fix and sell. Item number 354 on my list of things to do...

Lookin' good, is that an e34 to the left of it?

Ah...good eye. Yes, thats my old E34. Loved that car, still do. Needs a transmission. Want it?

I would love to save the E34 and keep it as an extra car, but I already have a Volvo that has a tow hitch and other outdoorsy goodies on it. That, and the Volvo is an automatic, so my mother and sister and GF can drive it when their cars are out of comission (which is a huge convenience).

BTW, I paid about 18k for the car.

Nice looking little headache you just bought there. Good luck with the repairs 😛

As someone else pointed out, there is an E34 to the right of it. I've become fairly familiar with BMWs and repairing them, as I've done all of the repairs on the E34 (and even raced it a few times too). I'm friends with a few people that regularly track E36 M3s and such, and we typically get together to work on our vechiles at our garages, its pretty fun.

I realize that I am going to be performing repairs on this car moreso than if I bought a Honda or Toyota (which I also work on, my GF and dad drive them), but thats what allows me to afford such an awesome performing machine I wouldn't otherwise be able to.

I would love to have another E34 again.

I had a '94 530i before I got my Cobra. I wouldnt mind finding a low mile E34 with a stick shift for a daily driver.

miles, year?

Carmax offered me $1850 for it when I took it in about 3 weeks ago.

Its a 93 525i w/ 165,000 miles on it. Its got fairly new tires and cold AC too. Well maintained by me, but I can go into that later if you're interested. I was planning on trading it in to Carmax after I get the registration moved over onto the new car, so like within about 2 weeks.

Not a whole lot. I was going to test drive the Audi S4, but the S4 is a bit more of a car than I can afford. The A4, on the other hand, was FWD and not nearly as sporty, so I didn't want that.

I toyed with the idea of a maxima, but again, the FWD turned me off.

IS300s don't come with manual transmissions, so that was out.

The other car I was seriously considering was a BMW 540i/6, but I opted for the 330 coupe since I wanted a smaller car.

Mustangs make baby jesus' insurance company sad, so I didn't really look at those.

I drove the G35 coupe, but I didn't really like it.

Thats about all the cars I considered before purchasing this.

Well, you learn something new every day. Still though, not like they were in great supply.

Thats what I was thinking.

Whats the mileage on that?

Nice cars but the wheels don't like great. Never seen those wheels in fact but I'm in the UK so maybe it was for the American market?

Its relatively low mileage - 48k miles.

I got a pretty good deal, I think. Seller needed to sell, and I wasn't rushed to buy from anywhere in particular. I would think the fact that I was paying cash for a car most people could only finance made the selling options slim for the seller, but thats just my guess, who knows. Mabye the dealer REALLY low-balled him on the trade, and he just took the first offer that was higher than the dealer.
