Those look nice except for the front end. It looks like a cartoon character that got punched in the nose and had his face distorted, and became crosseyed. What were they thinking?

Wow, where do you live? The manual transmission S60 doesn't seem to be available in the USA, let alone the big turbo diesel and in an R-Design.

I don't know why, but I love volvos. I just hate they they're owned by Geely now.

Pretty much the only reason I didn't get a new S60

I love those cars. Perfect interiors too. Design minimalism at it's best.
Congrats!

Belgium, the S60 is actually build in the Belgian Volvo factory 10 miles from where i live. So in some way I'm supporting the local economy

Yeah I have the same feeling about not buying a Geely, though, the OP notes in a later post that the car is built in Belgium. Since Volvo seems to be a perennial money loser for their owner, you're probably costing Geely money when you buy one! :)

As a long term purchase you cant go wrong with volvo overengineering. Do you guys think volvo sales were helped at all by Saabs demise?

I don't think Saab sold enough to matter. :whiste:

I think I read somewhere that at one time (before the 80's Japanese volume influx) Volvo was the highest volume import in the USA.

most of the production facilities are stil in Europe (Sweden and Belgium)
They have a factory in Malaysia and one in China that produces for the local market

If they sold those cars with a manual in the US I would think seriously about one as a replacement for my E90 330i when the time comes. I've always liked Volvos and would pick up a V70R if the right one popped up in my area.

the Beamer is without any doubt sportier. I also looked at a new 3 series. Most of my driving is (fast) freeway driving and for this the Volvo D5 is excellent. It also has the best seats in the world. It's also at least 6k euro cheaper here then a less powerfull BMW 320 diesel.

Does 4.5 Liters/100km [62.8 mpg(Imperial)] combined sound correct for fuel consumption for the 6MT?

And 5.9 Liters/100km [47.9 mpg(Imperial)] combined for the 6AT?

If you believe the official numbers, yes, real world expect around 6l/100 km for mixed driving (for the manual). Still extremely good

Nice car, I kind of lost my love for Volvo's since the end of the S60R... and really since the end of the 850R. I wish they stayed 100% Swedish...

Would still love to get my hands on a yellow 850R some day...
