Some of you may have remembered that I was looking into a new camera. I agonized over getting a lower end DSLR. However, after thinking about the kind of shots I like to do and how much money I'd have to spend on tubes, lenses, etc - I decided to get a prosumer superzoom. I narrowed my choices down to the FZ7 and the Canon s2/s3 IS
After reading the warranty on the FZ7, I looked at the canon offerings again. After agonizing for a day reading the differences between the s2/s3 - I opted for the 70$ cheaper S2.
I'm upgrading from an A series P&S.
I'm getting a lensmate adapter so that I can use graduated neutral density filters and a linear polarizer. I am also getting a canon 250d closeup filter soon for macro shots. I will also gain the 432 mm zoom, and the exposure bracketing - I want to play with HDR. I've been toying with a hoya r72 infrared as well after seeing this gallery.
