My new cable modem stalls my mouse! any help?

I recently got Gte Americast/cable modem and after hooking up a Linksys LNE100TX NIC card I booted up my connection. The connection works for about a couple minutes, but then my mouse pointer freezes on the screen. The system doesn't lockup though only the mouse cursor? I can still move the mouse around and still run and click icons on the desktop, but the cursor doesn't seem to follow(ghost cursor). I only had this problem happen after i installed the nic card and the cable modem. When I don't run the internet nothing seems to happen. Any suggestions for help? Thanks!

My system.
