My new build that I'm ordering tonight

concur with sqube. Don't skimp on the PSU. Get Seasonic/Fortron. That does mean you would have to chose another non psu integrated case, but as there are plenty of quality cases around, that shouldn't pose as to big of a problem. Otherwise a decent build

a Centurion 532 without a power supply or a Centurion 5 if you like it, and a 450W Fortron Source power supply for $50. it should cost almost the same but offer much better performance

I just noticed your sig. Why was blackinches banned? Ike definitley thinks blackinches should be unbanned. 😉

To the OP, The Sonata II would be a very good choice if you like that style. It's basically the same as the orignial with slightly improved airflow and a more powerful PSU.

Or go with raildogg's suggestion. The 450W Fortron for $50 is most likley the best PSU deal you will find anywhere.

Hmm. I take it you'll be overclocking? Why not get the Venice 3000+, instead? It has about the same clock potential, but costs $73 less.

The power supply included with your case should be fine, but if you want to be extra safe, you can get something like this for $37 or this for $44. Neither is absolutely necessary, though. And unless you really need a side panel window, you can get this PSU-less version of the case you had picked out to make room in your budget for a name-brand unit.

get a sonata, if you're spending that much on a graphics card spend $50 less for an xl, or $50 more for a 7800 gt. a 6800gt is not the way to go.

you might want to consider 2x 1gb. memory is one of the few parts of a computer that is worth the money and doesn't really go down in price.

I got rid of the old case and added these 2 seperately, but the price comes out to $1,007.47 with shipping $1,139.37.

great choices. your second link seems not to work, but I would recommend that you get the evga 7800gt with a free evga/jetway nf4 sli motherboard. it is $399 but with rebate its $359.

your epox 9npa ultra/evga 6800gt combo costs $394.

so you would get a much better graphics performance at the same price, if not cheaper.

😛

I have always been a "huge" fan of blackinches. i think its a shame that a member of his high caliber is not posting with us. i am certainly hoping blackinches comes back, the sooner the better

Do you happen to have a link to this evga 7800gt with a free evga/jetway nf4 sli motherboard?

the free mobo deal died with yesterday 🙁

the evga/jetway mobo is an evga mobo that everybody claims to be a rebadged jetway.
