For a few reasons, I decided to pull the trigger Friday and picked up the rest of my PC.
Core i5-4590 ($189)
EVGA GTX 960 SSC ($165)
Asus H97 Plus ($75)
PNY 2X4 GB DDR3 ($55)
AMD R7 SSD 120 GB ($70)
WD 2TB Green HDD ($56)
Cooler Master N400 Case ($45)
Thermaltake TR2-430 watt psu ($25 after rebate)
Windows 7 Pro (gift from friend)
Arguably, I'd say my biggest misstep was the psu. I read the 12v rail specs which appeared to meet the 430 watt mark, and a couple quick user review before buying, however, now looking at some proffessional reviews, it seems the psu can only do 350 watts.
At the moment, it seems to be doing just fine, the gpu only really needs a 6-pin it seems (<150 watts), though I suppose I'll find out how well it stands up when I hit both the processor and GPU. I suppose I could do worse though (looks nervously at Diablotek). I'll probably replace it later down the road, if only because the wiring mess is mildly maddening.
Lack of home internet (my data plan had already throttled) does pose some obstacles particularly where updates are concerned, though with public wifi and my laptop, I should be able to sidestep most of those. I do need Service Pack 1 to even start Blender.
Also, DSR is a friggen godsend on a 720P hdtv.
