I posted the other day about building a 1500 dollar machine, here's what I came up with.
I could have done it differently, but really wanted to go SFF.
I'm not planning on overclocking at this point.
just needed something for light gamming, some multimedia apps, surfin the web, just some general shizt.

AMD A64 3700+
1GB Corsair PC 3200 value ram:beer🙁probably should have gotten a 2GB ram kit):beer:
Sapphire Radeon X850XT
Rosewill R912E 19" 8ms lcd
WD Caviar SE 400GB sata
Lite-On SHW-160P6S 16x dvd burner
Linksys WUSB54GP USB 2.0 wireless adapter (I don't have any wired systems in my house, only wireless)

Those X850XT's run pretty hot for a SFF. It looks great as long as you can keep it cool.
