I have a easy job and generaly don't complain about it much but I need to vent a bit about my new boss.
My old boss (who is a good friend) transfered to the R&D portion of the company I work for and his original replacement quit at the last moment. Left without any other options my company transfers in my new boss from a small site in Florida. He is a nice guy but doesn't have a clue how things work at this site, and has allready screwed up paperwork and given incorrect answers to people that need them. He keeps thinking everything works like it did 4-5 years ago when it has changed tremendously.
It wreaks all sorts of havoc on the workings of the site and I have to go around behind him fixing everything. What's worse is when I come to something I don't have full knowledge or are unsure of I have no one to ask or get guidence from on a course of action because the senile old fart doesn't know what to do either.
Its just very frustrating, and I am at my wits end on what to do other than transfer out or find another job. Neither of which I want to do at the moment.

Ahh that feels a bit better....
I need a

Do what I do for school, stay up so late that your really tired at work, and by the time your home, you forget you were even there. I guess I can't get fired from school... but I'll let you tinker with that.

Arrrrrgghhhh, the old bastard tried to make a schedule today. God what a nightmare. He has people coming in when they aren't needed, has places that people need to come in and are not. The best part is that he left it for me to fix. I hope the old fart has another heart attack! :|

It may suck, but it might help you if you stick with it. If the company or the dept. you work for is relatively small, then I am sure people will notice you fixing the mistakes caused by your boss. And if you don't complain and do good job at it, they might see you as an individual who can handle more responsibilities.

1. easy job = you slacker. And now, you're asked to do real work so you get angry.

Else

2. If you are right about him, then get back to school, earn a higher degree, then take over his job. That is unless you're too much of a slacker to do that. ;)

Quitting isn't an option at the moment as I have no other job lined up nor could I find one that would pay enough on a short notice.
I wish i could but I'm posting here, that means I have enough time to fix the damn thing. If I doesn't get fixed, yes it would bite him on the ass but it means I would probably be the one that gets called in to fill in the holes.

Yes It is an easy job, and yes I am a slacker. BUT I do not mind doing work, its cleaning up behind somone that should know what they are doing that makes me mad. If I had his position I wouldn't be bitching at all.
As for the whole college thing. I want to go to college, but I stupidly got myself into a deep pile of debt that I am slowly digging myself out of. Once I am out I will start on the road towards a degree.
