that is, if the wheels don't fall off or the engine doesn't burst into flames.

my buddy ran his mom's SE down the track for a 16.7 (it's automatic) so i presumed manual would be mid-low 16's maybe better.
i really don't know but those are the numbers on an automatic SE.

Make sure it has had all of the required recalls taken care of.. THat car is up to what? 16 recalls?

Yeah, the earlier models...2000 and 2001 had a bunch of recalls but the 02 and 03 have none. Ford cleaned up thier act on this one quick and also give a standard 100k warranty on the foci.

Well....all car companies seem to have issues on the first year or two of their newer-production models. I would never buy a 1st year car like the 300Z. I'm gonna wait until they iron out the kinks that no one's found yet. 😉

LOL....my current ride is a 1999 Jeep Cherokee (XJ). I like it because they started making those in 1984. 😀 It's a pretty solid vehicle.

Unlike you he's not a benchmark racer. Go to the track once in a while

For all of you folks saying that the manual would perform better in a quarter mile; that is not true. Usually in straight line acceleration an auto tranny is better than a manual; the computer can shift faster than you can.

Not a car like this... it isn't optimized for that kind of driving.
