Here's my apt. My desk is a mess, I know, and I need black speakers (spks are the only beige thing that I have...)

and mostly : what is a good way to organize my mess of cables? I have a glass/steel desk that shows them all.
They are currently in a winebox with no lid.. I was thinking a tupperware tub and cut a hole in the lid..

Nice place! The only thing I can think of to hide the wires is some twist-ties to group them together and then maybe a couple of white boards of some sort that you could place behind your desk against the wall.

the msg is something i found in a friend of mines kitchen.. heh.. MSG == BAD

my work had a wireless connection (two actually) with two of those on each building.. I was told to throw them away

MSG is bad only for people who are sensitive to it. And even then, the reactions are very mild and short lived AND occur only when taken in huge amounts (2-3g - 1 tablespoon) on an fairly empty stomach. There are a lot of myths surrounding MSG. To read the facts, look here:

:Q my apt. in westwood, ca costs $2300
2 bed, 2 bath, not nearly as big (from what i can tell)

granted it is split 4 ways, my apt. is 3 times more expensive than yours.

hell, the cheapest 2 bed you can find in the non-ghetto of LA is $1200.
 
uhm UGA has SOOO many unsecure wireless networks it is not EVEN funny. A friend of mine is in reed ( I think...) hall, and I was able to pick up 6 wireless networks that I could gain internet access of off out of her window
