Here is a list of parts that I've picked out after much research and advice from forum members:

Thermaltake Tsunami case
Antec Truepower II 550W psu
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
a64 3700+
Corsair Twinx 3200XL 2x512MB ram
BFG GeForce 6800 GT dual DVI
2x Maxtor Maxline III 7200rpm SATA 300GB (RAID 0)
Plextor SATA DVD+-RW DL PX-716SA
Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu LED CPU Fan
Zalman ZM-NB47J Northbridge heatsink
Arctic Cooling NV Silencer (Rev. 2) Ceramic VGA Cooler
Aerocool Coolpanel black

Under $2000 shipped (Monarch, Newegg, Zipzoomfly)

Please tell me what you think of this setup and if there are any known issues with this configuration. I'm buying this next week and I want to make sure I'm getting the best hardware.

You could save at least $500 and get almost no noticable performance loss.

1) Get the 3500. Few games benefit from the larger L2 cache of the 3700, and those taht do benefit from it don't benefit much. (I'm assuming you want this as a gaming rig because of your name)
2) Get value ram (corsair value ram seems to have the best price recently). The A64 doesnt' benefit much from having ram with slower timings, so you loose nearly no performance and can save $100 by going with value ram.
3) Don't use a RAID 0 aray. It gives you no performance increase. Absolutely none.
4) You really don't need all the aditional coolers unless you want a very quiet system or are planning on overclocking everything to its max.

Sorry for not specifying that this is a gaming rig.
What kind of effect does value ram have on overclocking performance?
Also, how much of an impact does a smaller HDD cache make on performance?

Value Ram has no impact on overclocking performance if you use a divider. A 8mb HD cache is really all you need for good performance.

That's sh1t you never notice imo.

Yes, in youre opinion. In your worthless, lousy, trolling opinion. The MaxLine III's are the fastest 7200 RPM drives on the market, and they're not that expensive. In some things, they even outperform the 74GB Raptor. Don't get the SLI-Deluxe mobo. Go with the DFI Lanparty Ultra-D for its great overclocking potential. Also, the Ultra-D's 2 video card slots can be modded to "fake-SLI", which pretty much performs the same as regular nVidia SLI, but for a lot less.

IMO using a divider is dumb. You should want to keep a 1:1 ratio. Just get some decent OCZ and I'd stick with the 3700 san diego. Everything else looks great.

And why is using a divider dumb? You can save so much more money. Why would I waste like $300 on some RAM that can run 1:1 with a 3700+ clocked up to say, 2800 mhz. You'll barely notice the difference in performance, but the money spent can be invested in a better video card, or other parts.

Well to each his own but if I were building a new system from scratch I'd simply do a little research on what the average OC'er is getting on cheaper RAM that can maintain a 1:1 ratio on the average overclock for whatever particular cpu. You don't have to necessarily spend THAT much extra like you think to accomplish this. I prefer to have the extra performance for the extra couple bucks.

because you're not talking 300$. 6 months ago yes but ocz rev2 can be had for 180ish all week and i've seen it around 160. clocks great. on my pathetic winnie i can do 275 1:1.

edit--on the mobo, you also want to browse about the motherboard section and do some searches on them they allhave little nit picky things so you want to see which will suitt you best. i know asus has the premium due soon. i think its supposed to be better than the deluxe. of course a lot of money.

Enough discussion about RAM. I've decided to stick with the XMS 3200 XL memory, and I'm also sticking with the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe mobo. For those of you wondering which hard drives I've decided on, I'm going to get 2 Maxtor Maxline III HDDs.
Now can you answer my other questions?

Why are you getting the SLI Deluxe? This system looks like it'll be heavily overclocked, in which the Lanparty would be a lot better.
