I use IE normally, but once in a while i use netscape. Recently, its been crashing every time it tries to load a page. I originally had the 128bit encryption version, and the crashing started with that. Reinstalling multiple times did nothing, so i tried downloading the 64bit version, and all was well for about a week. Then the crashing started again. This is the error I get...

NETSCAPE caused an invalid page fault in
module MCSCAN32.DLL at 016f:0345088c.

Any ideas?

Are you running McAfee VirusScan? A quick check at Deja seems to point toward that. Also, when you uninstalled, did you reboot AND delete the Netscape folder? The remove program leaves that stuff behind and it taints the next install. You may need to reinstall McAfee. Look arounf the Usenet at Deja for your issue. I did.🙂

well, well, whaddya know. i disabled virusscan, and everything works.

You are awesome. thanks

ok, i checked it out and apparently the DAT (4116) file i installed was the culprit. I updated to the new DAT (4118) and all is good.

thanks again. 🙂
