I'm sure they can buy more copies of Garden State and Harold and Kumar....

And I'm sure they will. The guys at NetFlix aren't dumb. If they see there is a major back up they will deal with it.

These long lists really crack me up. Princess Diaries 2 and Silk Stockings.

I agree with the GTFO of the house post.

Because the people who get their discs, rip them and drop them in the mailbox the same day cost Netflix a lot of money on postage.

And them taking 3 days to ship it to what ammounts to a 45 minute drive is right?

Saw a funny story relating to this topic on another forum. A guy burning his Netflix DVDs accidently returned the freshly burned and freshly labeled copy of Wes Cravens New Nightmare. He didn't realize until he opened his DVD burner and saw he still had the original. He's now banned from every having a Netflix account again.

I didn't say that. He asked why they do it, I answered his question.

I'm on the fence about whether they SHOULD do it or not... on one hand, people are just taking advantage of the service they offer. On the other hand, the way they take advantage of it is not really a legitimate use of the service, and to continue shipping 8 discs to these people every 2 days would drive prices up for the rest of us who don't abuse it. On the third hand, delaying shipment could affect legitimate users who just watch an absurd number of movies.

I do know that I don't want to see Netflix go out of business.

I think I heard Netflix quarterly profit numbers were real good this quarter. Maybe they cut down on buying more dvds ;)
