Snapped some pictures today. Most were taken in auto mode, since I don't know anything about wide angle shots, and I didn't want to stand around on the streets fiddling with my camera looking like a retard. Some of them I took a couple of days ago.

I'm going to include the EXIFs for anybody that wants to look at my settings and/or give me advice.

Moth on our bathroom door

It's looking at meeee!!!!! :Q Same moth on our bathroom mirror. I thought this shot was pretty neat.

EXIF

Full zoom, a little to the left.. my girlfriend wanted me to try and take a picture of the water tower way off in the distance. 🙂

Another shot of Mt. Scott, zoomed out

Busy Interstate 5. This pic is kinda washed out, it's not really hazy like it looks.

The new Home Depot & Mt Scott with flag

I thought this pic of the sun was cool because of the branch on the left and the jet streak on the right.
EXIF

Lovely Housing Development on the side of Mt. Scott.
EXIF

Shot North. You can barely see Mt. St. Helens way off in the distance. Here is the same pic tweaked so you can see the mountain better.

Do you have enough photo equipment to fill a dump truck?

Nice pictures, Eli -
(Watch your ass, lirion!)

Busy Interstate 5.

Have you ever been to LA? That is like perfect traffic.
"Welcome to Los Angeles, where the players play,
and we be stuck in mad traffic like everyday"
Yeah, I've been there.

I dunno why I labeled the picture as "busy", the traffic is actually pretty light. I took the pic at around noon.

It is backed up every day during rush hour. We can see that section of the highway from our house when all the leaves fall off the trees.

I have one very important question Eli ;

Where are all your "junk" cars if they are not in the back or side yard ?

junk cars? I never said I had any junk cars.. 😛 I wish.. lol

Actually, as part of the rental agreement, we're not supposed to do anything with oil here, or have broken cars sitting around, or anything.. heh. But I still tinker. 😉

Hehe... just wait until you get your +10 macro lens! Make sure that if you stack the diopters, you go Largest closest to camera. So if you stack a +10, +4, and +1... they go in that order. The +10 goes closest to the camera, then +4, then +1. Otherwise, they tend to cancel each other out... a little.

Like the black & red beetle, the banding on the legs, cool.

I shoot analog A-1 & T-90. Digital is yet to come.

Overall OK. Know what the rule of thirds is?=Avoid centering things in your shots.
Do not fill the frame w/sky unless its interesting.

I wanted a shot of you running up your little power plants....🙂

I am debating a camera upgrade (I have the A50 1.3MP)....not good enough macro.

I am thinking A40, A60 or even an A70 if i can find a steal.

I want to get my wife a elph sized 3x2x1 inch camera, the old S100 looks decent and would even upgrade her over the A50 we have now.

I'd say go with the A60 or A70 if macro is your concern. The A60's minimum focus distance is only 5cm. I'm pretty sure the A70 is the same.

The minimum focus distance of the A40 is 15cm - quite a significant difference.

hmmm I didn't know the A40 had a lesser macro (6" x 4" minimum area vs the A60's 2" x 1.5")....I thought it just didnt offer all the manual modes of the A60....the lens is the same.

the A60 vs A70 is a debate over MP more than anything (2 vs 3.3)
