My navy recruiter doesn't seem to care

What are the chances you could provide a little meaningful information?

Officers don't count on his monthly quota. This could be one reason.

The only thing a recruiter cares about is getting you signed up. More details would be nice.

well, he still needs two reference letters from me. I asked my boss and my adviser to write me ones back in july and they sent them. A month later, he told me he didn't get them in the mail. I was like WTH, so I asked them to write it again. They did. When I asked my recruiter if he has gotten it, he just told me he had to check...

I got too frustrated with him and I don't want to bother my boss and adviser for reference letters yet again.

This is exactly the reason. He is really only responsible for recruiting enlisted personnel.

I wasn't aware they're the same recruiters. They aren't even in the same buildings (k, not exactly difinitive, but still).

Go talk to your local Coast Guard recruiter. OR, the Marines....
Semper Fi.

That's what I have been thinking. There will be a government job fair coming up on Wednesday. My hope for the navy has pretty much gone. I may just tell my recruiter to withdraw my application.

I want a recruiter that wants me to join them.

If you are talking to an enlisted recruiter about applying to OCS... don't. Find out where your nearest officer recruiter is located and talk with him/her.

If you are already talking to an officer recruiter, what are your stats? GPA and ASTB scores?

I wouldn't care either.

What's field of study is your 4-year college degree?

The others in the thread are correct; recruiters recruit enlisted folks. Officers typically have to submit a candidate package through an officer candidate intake office; usually at your closest Navy base. If he's being a jerk, move on. Call the Navy's recruitment number or, my suggestion, join the Air Force!

The recruting stations do not recruit officers. ROTC on college campus's recruits Officer Candidates.

He could give fvck less about you.

what do you expect? these guys are literally the used-car salesmen of the military. they exist only to sleaze you into signing something, not to care about YOU.

Visit the local ROTC, any military branch will do because although they will try to recruit you for their branch, they can put you in touch with the people you need to talk to for the Navy.
