my mx600 mouse is acting up

i have a mx 600 cordless mouse and my os is w10. at the bottom left of the screen you can click on a up arrow where you can open up your hidden icons. But when i click on it, my mouse wont or can't open or reveal the hidden icons. Same goes when i want to click on a drop down menu. also, when i write something and i click on a word my mouse highlights the whole word. Usual you would have to double click it in order to do that. When i click on back button on my mouse, instead of going back once,it seems like it one click equals to several clicks. What is causing this issue?
also when i want to close a tab on my browser, i have to click on it a couple of times before it does.
i've replaced the batteries, the driver is up to date 5.90.41.

Any ideas why my mouse is acting a little wacky?

Please any help would be great. Its driving me crazy.

The switch seems to go bad on my logitech mice after about 2 years. Does the same thing, intermittent double-click when I single-click. Sometimes it seems like it didn't click at all since the second click cancels out the first click on some actions.

If it's under warranty try sending it in. I've seen some forum posts about people who replace/fix them themselves, but being a fairly non-handy person, I've just junked them if I couldn't get a warranty replacement.

edit: How I test my mice: you can go to the Windows mouse control panel area to change/test double-click speed. Single click on the folder a few times with a LOT of time in between clicks so you don't accidentally double-click it on accident. If the folder opens/closes, the mouse is double-clicking on a single-click.
