My MSI K7T266-RU journey.........

Saw the reviews for the board. Most of them used "stable" as a description for this MB. Stability is the greatest buying factor I use, so I thouight "this is the board for me".

BOY WAS I WRONG!

MB #1: Shorted DIMM slot..........results.............1 fried stick of Corsair PC2400..............RMA MB

MB #2: Intermittant RAID controller malfunction...............results....................constant sys config error on bootup.........RMA MB

I have never seen a bigger POS board. I just ordered an Abit board with a HPT RAID controller. I know some have had some problems with the HPT, but I've have several with zero problems.

Anybody have the MSI board? What are your thoughts on this thing?

I have this board, got it shortly after it was released to the public. I have had zero problems with it. Had ABIT's board been available at the same time, I surely would have gone with the ABIT board, but my MSI board is doing just fine for me.

The design seems to be a good one. I think most of the reviews were done off the reference boards, but MSI cheesed out on the quality of the components on the retail boards.

I have most all slots, RAID and IDE ports filled. I need a good quality to accomodate all my stuff. MSI has really let me down.
