I enjoy almost all movies. The only ones I have trouble sitting through are the ones that i can't relate to at all, like The Hours

Yah Rob Zombie is remaking it in his own vision. And John Carpenter has his full support. And judging from the trailer ... it looks like it's going to be AWESOME!!

That's probably the #1 movie I'm looking forward to this summer. Google for the trailer, its badass.

I just saw 28 Weeks Later last night, and I have to say that I haven't been blown away by a movie in a looooong time, and this movie delivered. That movie was seriously intense.

I agree with most of your ratings more or less, but how Lost In Translation got a A and The Fountain got a C+ is beyond me.

Lost In Translation: An odd tale of people pushed together in a strange far off world. It's Tokyo. It would appear to me this movie would only appeal to people who have never left their state or traveled abroad. I didn't find anything new in the story.

The Fountain: If you look at it as a film that every 11th grade English class will use for "find the hidden symbols/icons" then it's boring. I liked the fact it linked the 3 realities together. It should also get people talking, just like Lost in Translation, but I like the fact that it brough at least 5 different religions/philoophies together into 1 story (and I'm not much of a religious person).

12 Angry Men (the original is great). Recent oldies I saw that I remember are awesome are The Day The Earth Stood Still and Breakfast at Tiffanys.

I was greatly dissapointed by Shrek 3 :( I'm hoping Transformers will be as "wow" as the summer I saw T2 back when I was in high-school :)

Based on your grades, you seem to enjoy dramas. Be sure to add Midnight Cowboy and Taxi Driver to that list if you haven't seen them already. Also A Clockwork Orange since you seemed to like 2001 well enough. My favorite scene in 2001 is when HAL kills the sleeping crew and the only indication that he does so is that a light flashes and then goes out. Only movie to ever make space quite so creepy.

I'm kind of the same way.

I've been a recluse the past month since I got out of school and before my internship started (last wednesday). I'd routinely watch 2-3 movies, sometimes four. There were a lot of movies that I just never saw, and so I got caught up. Now, I get out of the house regularly.

I liked the humor in lost in translation, the script itself was good.

FOr the fountain, it was a lot of style over substance in my opinion. THe movie is beautiful and the soundtrack amazing but the story isn't that deep and there is very little character development. By running 3 stories at once they were basically unable to develop any one story line particularly well. Plus I guess it would have like to have a little more explanation as to the future scenes. Like how he ended up in a floating tree

Nice...I only tend to average about 3 or 4 movies a week so you've got me beat for now. Here's my movies from the last 3 weeks, roughly:

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
Namesake, The
28 Weeks Later
Philadelphia Story, The
Shrek 3
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Leben der Anderen, Das / The Lives of Others
Knocked Up
Waitress
Ghostbusters
Conversations With Other Women
Hostel 2
Host, The

Not a great list, looking at it...decent though. It'll get better as I get deeper into summer.

Except for a few, your list of movies to watch is pretty damn similar to mine.

I take the opposite stance on your views of The Fountain and Lost in Translation though. I didn't even finish watching Lost in Translation because I found it so boring.
