i can't seem to play starcraft with a lot of precision

my mouse isn't doing so well on this wood platform because it just moves back 'n forth at random points, mostly because the laser isn't reading efficiently to the wood surface

i've tried a few mouse pads and they suck, not to mention the different mice, even new ones

i wanna play pc games without the hassle of my mouse not obeying my every command according to the optical sensors, mouse clicks are fine except for when you're clicking on the wrong spot when your mouse cursor flies somewhere else

no, it's not a driver issue, it's the stupid optical sensors, because if you move your mouse really fast on the mouse pads, you still get distortion

for example, you're playing starcraft and trying to micro manage your troops. thus your mouse is moving in fast swerves, and I can't get this to do it well, unless it was a metal surface (old desk without stupid mouse pads).

alright, don't give me any crap or simple stuff like get more expensive stuff, I need professional posts that aim at solving problems. thank you~

I use a MX518 by Logitech, and my mouse pad is homemade, out of off white thin canvas. I've been useing this combo for about 6 mo now in all my FPS games. The off the shelf mouse pads just didn't cut it, I like em big and require longevity. Works for me.

Both said to be good. I just bought a Razer myself.

I have the razer also.

Although for your gaming, both mouse are too high of sensitivty for starcraft, i know, because i had two mouses just for starcraft. the high dpi for FPS games and my low dpi logitech 510 for starcraft. when i used high dpi mouse for starcraft, it would cover to much area to fast and make it hard to micro. probably due to starcrafts low resolution. of course you could always turn down the sensitivity, but i was lazy and had two mouse plugged in at same time for different games.

That's the good thing about the mx518, you can change resolution with 1 click on the proper mouse button.

And if you are a cord-hater, like myself, but demand precision- your prayers have been answered- Logitech MX1000. Unbelievable battery life (lithium-ion), extremely accurate. The only thing I had to get use to is when I would lift the mouse to relocate it on the mouse pad, you really have to lift it a lot higher.

Just kidding next week the laser mouse is going to be 50.00 somewhere will try to keep you posted.

Otherwise Logitech any model 500 is good. 518 is sweet.

the razer mouse is very low profile, the side buttons are poorly placed, ergos is not friendly, built mainly for fps. other than that its pretty good, long term reliabilty i would stick with logitech. try both out at bestbuy.

on side note: i went through 2 razer boomslang that both failed within a year. mouse button sticking, hopefully they finally got it right. i keep coming back because i'm used to the high dpi now. my old boomslangs were 2100dpi and 2000dpi.
