I put it on the charger and it's not charging. What are the possible reasons that this could happen?

check the connects on the mouse and the charging port. also make sure its in there securely. also check to make sure the connection to the usb port is secure. if all those are ok, it might just be the batteries.

How long have you had the mouse? I have had my MX 500 (quite similar to the MX 700) for quite a while (over 2 years I believe) and have never had a problem with it. Also, if you just got it, you may have done something wrong, but if this happened "all of a sudden" then it might the rechargable batteries crapping out.

It has to do with the connections on the charging stand or make sure the adaptor is plug in. I tottally gave up on my base stand recharger and used a separate charger (which means no more, "Hold on guys, let me recharge my mouse.")

The red light on it keeps flashing. When I put it on the charger, nothing happens. The red light keeps flashing. This happened all of a sudden. I saw no noticable reduction in the hold of a charge. It's not brand new. I'll look for how old it is.

My MX700 sometimes 'wont charge' I have to fiddle with the metal connectors on the charger, the ones on the mouse and reseat the mouse a good few times until it sits 'just so'.

I occaisionally use a pencil eraser to clean the connectors and that seems to help.

Is the red light on the bottom of the mouse still showing up? If it is, then it isn't in the charger correctly. If it isn't, then it sounds like something is broken...Usually when something similar than that happens to me, I just giggle it aroudn in the charger and then it charges fine.

Don't worry. You still have over a day's worth of juice when the red light starts flashing. :)

I think you can just use regular AA batteries if you run out and it/s an emergency.

My MX700 used to not charge as well. The problem, in my case, was that the charging contacts on the mouse itself were dirty. Once I cleaned them off, the charge went fine.

Incidentally, this is my 2nd MX700. Bought the first one in July 03, RMA'd it for complete failure to operate. Logitech sent me a complete second mouse, which I still have to this day.

I would like to upgrade it to an MX1000, however, I want a wireless logitech keyboard with it. Until Logitech offers an ergo keyboard and MX1000/700 combo, it won't happen. :(

sorry. I used a pencil eraser, as you suggested and that didn't work. I was wondering if he used alcohol of something. I solved the problem (stupid me ) and thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
