They sell some stuff at the pet store call Nature's Miracle, you will probably need the Gallon size jug along with a spray bottle, But beleive me this stuff does work wonders. Very good product, for not only pet smell, but other nasty smells also.

Well I tired the vinegar. It smells better, but it's too late. The smell is in my clothes now. I washed a load of clothes, with two full cups of vinegar, and the smell is still in my clothes. I can smell it all around me. It smells so sour.

I'm thinking about keeping all of my clothes in my car. And just going out to my car for clean clothes.
I think I might do that.
I cannot take the smell.
They are such fvcking nasty people. When I got up this morning, there is food rotting on their counter. If you open their fridge, there is food rotting in the fridge.
The have a ferret cage inside. They just let the ferret's sh!t everywhere. And they don't clean it.

Sounds like its time to stay with friends when you come home for the summer. That or only come for a couple weeks.

Sounds like they have a Meth lab going. ;)

j/k

Okay, do this:

1. Get a box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. Shake on all carpets in the house. Let sit for awhile. Then vacuum up.

2. Lightly spray all fabric furniture with Febreeze.

3. Get windex with lemon scent, spray towel, wipe down walls.

4. Change air filter in furnace/ac intake.

5. Clean out fridge, remove all trash in house.

6. If you have a garbage disposal, buy a pack of those lemon scented cleaners. They're little ball capsules that you throw down the drain then kick on the disposal, breaking it open and spreading a detergent. Let it sit for an hour. Then run hot water for a few minutes with disposal on.

7. Get chlorine drops for your toilet tanks.

8. Get one of those plugin smelly things for the main hallway.

There you go, this should take care of it. :)

Put mothballs in all of the closets and next to the ferret's cage.

What kind air purifier did you get?

I don't have any friends that will let me even spend the night. My "friends" are selfish. They know my situation, and they don't care. Out of sight, out of mind.

You have no idea what I am dealing with here.
This isn't some musty smell that will just go away.
This is quite literally the nastiest house I have ever been in.
It's going to take ripping up all the carpets and replacing them.
They will have to have someone come in and clean the vents professionally.
You can actually wipe a film of whatever this is off of everything.

They gave me a couch a while back when I lived in my apartment.
It took like 6-7 months to get the smell out. That's about 10 bottles of febreeze. 3 cans of lysol disinfectant. I shampooed the couch. The smell is on every fiber of cotton in those cushions.
I even posted a thread about the couch.

Time for some new friends. 1 of 2 things is happening with me, either I am not understanding the severity of the situation or you like making excuses. I can't tell which, either way, good luck to you.

Trust me, I've seen worse. My family owns a cleaning business.

Info about ferrets and their oil secretions:

To put it kindly, ferrets don't always come up smelling like roses. A ferret's sebaceous glands, which are used to mark territory, secrete oil with a natural musky odor, and the animal's anal scent glands can spray just like a skunk's. You should spay or neuter your ferret to minimize odors, and also change the bedding frequently. Bathing a ferret with kitten shampoo, ferret shampoo, or diluted baby shampoo can also help. But too many baths will only force the animal's scent and oil glands to work overtime.

A professional cleaner might help. All I see so far is you try to mask the problems with chemicals. That will not work. Let a professional cleaner do a deep clean of the whole house first, then you can continue with the preventive cleaning.

I am going to start washing my clothes at the laundry mat and keeping them in my car. I have no choice. It's that bad. It's on my clothes. I washed my clothes with 2 cups of vinegar, and I can still smell the sour smell on my clothes.

I am not going to pay for professional cleaners to come out to my mother's house.
I don't have the money to even if I wanted to do so.
I dont mean to sound ungrateful for a place to live, but I am paying some rent, and I am there only to sleep and keep my clothes and books.
I'll stay till the end of the month, pay my rent, and leave.

Well, vinegar itself has a sour smell. :p Its probably picking up the smell again in the dryer, since you're blowing the air inside the house through it. Plus the lint trap probably has years of ferret oil in it.

No, I read alot about vinegar.
It's great for washing clothes and removing odors. When it dries, it leave no smell, but kills all bacteria.

How much would it run to have professionals come and clean the entire house? It's probably about 2500sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath.
