i built the system and tried to power it up, but it wouldn't power on. i tested the psu and it's fine. so, i'm assuming it's the mobo.

i bought GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard... but are out of stock now.

is there another easy overclocker board that you guys might be able to recommend to me that's about the same price? asus hasn't done me wrong in the past...

anyone know anything that i don't in order to make this mobo work?

Have you tried all the basics? Clear CMOS. Test memory sticks individually in each slot. Check for shorts between mb and case etc.

What's the rest of your system look like?

Have you tested the "new" system with different ram to see if it posts? Some motherboards are picky with ram.

it's corsair ram... xms. i'm sure it's fine with gigabyte mobos.

besides, ram won't keep the system from even turning on. it didn't power up at all. no lights or leds came on on the mobo with the power supply plugged in.

The problem is the shitty ass Raidmax PSU. In fact why the hell are you even taking such a large a gamble with that POS.
