I have an Asus SLI-Premium and I have one PATA hard drive and one SATA hard drive. The problem is with the SATA drive. It dosent show up in windows only my PATA drive shows up.
In BIOS it shows both drives, so what could be the problem?

My system specs are

running windows XP pro
ASUS SLI - Premium
Athlon 64 3500+
Geforce 6800
XFI extreme music
PATA Seagate 120 gb
SATA Seagate 300 gb
Antec Neopower

Nvidia SW IDE drivers, you must do a "thorough" uninstall then install the chipset drivers w/o the SW IDE drivers. I can't remember the program you can use to "thoroughly" clearn the drivers though. Someone here must be able to help you out there.

Forget everything about drivers.. if it shows in BIOS, it will be seen by windows, but since it is a new drive, you have to go to the Disk management utility in setting/administrative tools to initialize the drive, partition it and format it in order to have Windows explorer to see the drive.

Actually, I don't. That's your system that is listed in my post.. I quoted all of your post.

And by the way, What the Seagate app did was what I told you in my other post. It initialize and partition the HDD, so it can be formatted.
