i cried reading your message
it made me think about my grandfather and his death
i wasn't able to be by him when he passed away; i live in california while the rest of my family (outside of my immediate family) lives in Chicago. I was there a month before though and he gave me his dying blessing

i cried for so long then...

it'll pass, it'll pass

I'm crying....... I don't know what to say. I love my dad and for him to die would kill me!
Thinking about your loss makes me die inside :(

I know my parents have to go, but I sometimes wish that I go before them so I don't feel the pain! :brokenheart:

It is my hope that you find peace again. I lost my mom to cancer in 2005, she died in the care of Hospice, with me holding her at the end. Although things will never be the same, all I can say is hang in there, be there for your loved ones, and share the gifts of life whenever possible, because I'm sure that's the way your Mom would have wanted it to be.

Unfortunately I've been there as well. It's a very depressing realization that for the first time in your life -- no matter how old you are -- you don't have a mom to turn to.

Logically you understand what happened and you deal with it, but emotionally it doesn't make it any easier. Hang in there!

Today we are attending a Dixieland style party in her honor thrown by her Red Hat group.

It was my mother's wish that she have a parasol parade and a dixieland sendoff instead of a funeral. She loved dixieland jazz and the culture surrounding it.

Not much in the mood for all this, but it's what she wanted.

It's gonna be a long day.
