My mortgage company sucks. LOST LAST 4 payments.

No Lifer
We just got a letter from the mortgage company saying if we did not pay $3340 in 30 days they were going to start foreclosure!

well that surprised us since we have made the payments (even have the checks back from bank) for the last 4 months.

We would send the payments to the local office every month. Well about September the guy who we dealt with quite. the new guy they hired is maybe 22 yrs old.

We called the main office to find out why they wanted to start foreclosure. They have not got a payment for the last 4 months (march is not due yet). So we called the local office. they do not know what is going on either but do see we sent them payment.

sigh hopefully it gets straightened out soon. i am very very mad. i told them if this hurts my Credit report (they said it wouldn't) there would be hell to pay.

edit: oh they said they been trying to contact us on teh home phone for 4 months! wich we canceled and let the local office know we would only be useing the cell phone numbers. the local office has it but never gave it to the main office.

heh fixed! seems natural to hit return after getting the title to go to next line. heh noo it post the darn thing!

As long as you have receipts and copies of checks you should be fine. Bank of America lost one of my mortgage payments once but all I had to do was show them my receipt and they bent over backwards correcting the problem.

Wow. That sucks. So the payments have been cleared but the office says your in the hole? Sounds like you need to do some ass chewing at the local office.

Maybe it's time to go shopping for a new mortgage company. Check your credit unions and see if you can get a better deal...they've never had a problem and automatically deduct payment from my account. 😉

Heh. You can't exactly get a very good deal on a refinance if your existing mortgage is 120 days late and N.O.D. 😛

i don't think Scarpozzi means OP should refi without resolving the payment issue.

Is it Countrywide, by chance?
I think not. I smell finance company ala Household/Beneficial, American General, etc. I think the "local office" is probably in a strip mall. Countrywide does not use local account executives for payment servicing.

not really. Washington Mutual was bad a few years ago and even a few threads were started. even though washington mutual cashed the checks they still foreclosed on teh homes. lots of news stories was done on this.

The cancelled checks are indisputable documented proof that the payments were made.

nope its with a local bank. But they are owned by a bigger bank down in southern IL. we got the loan through a place that specializes in farm loans.

i delt with household with a car loan when i was younger. man i would never deal with them again. but a 10% loan when you are 20 is good.
