Yeah so the picture on the screen shakes back and fourth rapidly about 2 or 3 mm. its really anoying. anyone know whats up? perhaps some electrical interfearence with the cables???

thanks

Yeah it would be electrical interference. Do you have a halogen lamp close to the monitor? If so, turn it off and see if it shakes. Do you have any electrical boxes (i.e. power for your speakers) close to the monitor? If so, move them. You could also try changing your refresh rate and see if that helps at all.

I had this similar problem and it turned out it was because the desk in my dorm room had a halogen lamp. I also had the power supply for my speakers too close to the monitor. After I moved that the shaking went away.

Could also be the refresh rate you're using, using one too high causes the picture to shake on my monitor at home.

Same thing with me. Increasing the refresh rate reduces shaking.

I think you're talking about screen flicker, which can be noticed in lower (50-60hz) refresh rates. I mean if I turn my refresh rate too high (Say 75hz at 1600x1200) the screen shakes, putting it down to 60hz makes it stable.

thanks guys, i found the problem, there was an old hp printer like a 512c or something like that near the monitor, but i think it was the power supply for it that was the problem. after i removed it the monitor stopped shaking.

thanks again.
