It goes like this:

I'm in the process of rearranging my room which requires moving my desk and thus disassembling the ol' computer. Everything seems fine until I fire it back up, only to find that the lower right corner of the screen is going nuts. The whole monitor is set at 1600x1200x32 @ 75hz but the lower right corner is flickering as if it was at 60hz. Keep in mind that it did not do that before it was unplugged from the computer and such. Any idea why it might be doing that? I've rerouted the cable, so I don't think it's a power cable causing interference or anything. I've degaussed it, moved anything that might be causing interference away, and it still won't stop flickering. Please, for the love of God, help me!

Just so you know, it's an Iiyama VisionMaster Pro 510 monitor with a GeForce2 card, both with latest drivers installed. Thanks.

Do you have a running fan or flourescent light near the monitor? Unshielded speakers?

Well, I feel like an idiot.

I checked my speakers, power cables, and anything else I thought might be causing interference.... but not a window fan. You've solved the problem, Commish, and I thank you for that. Who would've thought a small fan over 4 feet away would be causing interference?

You're not an idiot, sometimes you're just SO tech savvy that you overlook solutions like that. My roommate was running a vornado fan next to his wall and the interference went through the wall and was messing with MY screen. Bothered the hell out of me until I realized that when he turned it off, the flickering stopped.

Also....for my $.02....I've had similar problems with UPS units causing monitor problems....their voltage-regulation would cause noise in the lines when on AC.

Wierd eh?
