My monitor is making me go blind.

I've got a Compaq MV540 monitor I use on my system. For some reason it will not let me go above 60 on my refresh rate. This is killing my eyes. I've gone to Compaq.com and can't seem to find "drivers" for Win2K. Does anyone know what I can do to be able to adjust my refresh rate?

A little more info is needed such as: what type of video card do you have?

and is the option to select something higher there and it just doesn't work or do you only have the option of 60Hz?

I'm using a GF3 Ti200.

In 2K there is an option not to display and rates your monitor cannot handle. So all I get is 60. I manually tried 70 but it just goes blank. Then reverts back to 60.

<< also, a monitor .inf file from win9X should have no problem in Win2K >>

I tried using one for Win95/98 but it didn't offer me any different rates.

what rez are you running at?

here are the supported modes for the MV540: (from compaq.com)

1024 x 768 / 60 Hz (maximum resolution)

800 x 600 / 85 Hz (maximum flicker-free resolution)

800 x 600 / 75 and 60 Hz

720 x 400 / 70 Hz

640 x 480 / 85, 75 and 60 Hz

640 x 400 / 70 Hz

Are you sure it's not what you are doing to the stuff that's on the monitor screen thats causing you to go blind? 😛
