My Monitor Dying?

I was playing NWN this afternoon and the computer (thus the monitor) had been on for about 3-4 hours after a 10 hour off time. Suddenly the whole screen started waving/rippling. The screen looked as if i was watching thru water. At other time it would just shake left and right. More like vibrate since it want moving a distance but it was moving left and right at high frequency. I alt tabed out of NWN and the desktop was also waving and rippling. I am running the monitor at 1280*960@85Hz and the monitor is speced to do a lot more (i have a IBM P260).

I also have been getting really sore eyes over the past couple of months while playing games and i thought it was simply my gaming habit finally taking toll but i am now thinking may be this flicker is presistent at a more subtle level all the time and only when it gets really bad do i actually detect it.

Any ideas what i can do to fix this? or should i get a new monitor? i am beginning to wonder if i might end up doing serious damage to my eyes?!

Thanx

Akaz

1) Did you degause it?
2) Have you tried a different mode? (1024x768 er something)
3) Have you tried a different monitor? (To rule out your video card and/or EM)

It sounds like there might be some interference around the monitor. Try moving speakers, radio, TV, phone, etc. away from the monitor.
