My monitor doesnt pick up my GPU !!!!

Hi guys ive just bought a new psu and a new GPU (7970oc) ive plugged everything in right but my monitor isn't picking it up.....ive tried connecting it to the on board chip and that works fine.... what could the problem be????

Change the setting in BIOS so that the PCI card is detected first.

Tell us more about your specs, i.e. mb, cpu, monitor

CPU: i7 2700k
CASE: Guardian 912 rb
HDD : WCD green 1tb
RAM: 16gb 1333mhz ddr3
MoBo: Asrock pro3 gen3
DRIVE: Super Multi combo 22x
PSU: Toughpower XT 875
GPU : ati 7970 gigabyte oc

If ur bios settings are all good at this point I would recommend to use dvi before rma-ing the card

Yeppir, get a dvi to dvi cord. Local computer store may have one for a reasonable price.

i booted it before i got my new psu and it worked fine but one the new one came in. no display :(
Psu is not the issue here.Also please ensure that the 8+6 pin connectors are properly secured.Toughpower XT 875 is a very good psu
