My Monitor Bit the Dust - Need Suggestions

Scorpion

Well yesterday, after returning from work, I walked in to find my Monitor passed on to the big computer store in the sky.

It's been giving me some trouble with losing video and such, and this time it just didn't turn on at all.

So now I'm stuck with 2 computers and 0 monitors. And until I get a monitor, I can't do anything. 🙁

So I'm in the market for a new monitor. I'm looking to get a 19" flat screen. Got any suggestions?

Thanks

0 monitors? You type very well for not being able to see the screen.

I like KDS monitors myself, quality and clarity I've grown to love.

Har har har... I'm at work right now. I'm talking about at home.

Anybody suggest any brands/models? I need to order one soon, so any input would be appreciated.

Well thanks for the swift and overwhelming responses 😉

I talked with some other people and one of my friends and I've now ordered the KDS AV-195TF. Looks pretty good and I've heard good things about it.

Thanks

I would have suggested the viewsonic PF795 19" flatscreen. Great monitor!! Sorry if this is too late!

My favorite quality/value monitors are the Samsung 900NF, Viewsonic PF790, and AV-195TF (I am a hardcore aperture-grille fan). Although if you have the money to spend, I'd get a Dell P991 or a Sony CPD-G400 (both ~$500). For the former 3 though, you can get a good deal at Onvia with $25 coupon and pointclick 10%, and for the Samsung and the Viewsonic you can get their manufacturer rebates at $30 and $20, respectively. All three monitors should cost ~$350 after discounts.

I would have gone with a Viewsonic. Maybe it was me, but I didn't see that one that you mentioned Nator. Oh well, it's already been ordered. I think I'll be happy with it.

Yeah, I would have gone with something like a Sony G400, but they were out of stock and it was a little too pricey for me. :/

Got my AV-195TF today....I had to get used to the super flatness...but it's a great monitor!

You won't regret your decision ScoRP!oN.

The reason you are getting such overwhelming responses is most of us our sick of all these monitor threads. It's a FAQ at this point. Read one of the other 50 threads on the subject or all of them for that matter. Search is your friend.
