I bought it in early '08 for $600. It has a black vertical line, left hand side.

Im hesitant to return it because its a 24 inch MVA/PVA that LG doesnt make anymore. A replacement will probably be a cheap TN panel which I cant stand.

Its still under a $49 Frys warranty. If I cant fix it, I guess Ill have to hassle with them.

Oh well.

Thanks for any help.

I think your SOL :(

Have you spoken to Fry about what you would get? Tell them your concern that you wouild not be happy with a 'cheaper' 24" lcd.

Good luck mate!

You mean the line on the RIGHT hand side? If it's the line on the left hand side then I have the same problem, except it only appears when I'm watching football. Odd huh

You know I was wondering which way to describe that, whether from the perspective of the viewer or the moniter.

Anyway, Ive decided to take my chances at Frys. I found the old receipt and warranty details.

Turns out with taxes it came out to $700, and I bought it in May 2007! Guess my recollection was pretty off...

At least its covered until 05/2010.

Given that you posted pictures I figured you'd mean the left/right side of the pictures. Doesn't matter either way as it was pretty easy to see what you mean. Just given ya a hard time, all in good fun ;) Good luck, hope they can fix it.

Would it be bad to wait until the last minute to hopefully ensure a better panel is out (if you are thinking of replacement).

I took it to Frys today. Im afraid LG is going to replace it with a low quality TN panel.

They gave me a TN panel today at FRYS as a loaner and the difference is night and day.

I dont even WANT to watch TV now, because the quality is that bad with the loaner (and its straight off the shelf TN).

On the plus side the guy at Frys was very friendly and cooperative and didnt know squat about panel types. I said he could use mine to compare and see the differences. Now that his eyes have been opened theres no turning back. :p

Yeah, I don't like TN panels either.
