they're probably gonna use an endoscope/colonoscope to repair it, depending on where it is. and the drugs they give you really knock you for a loop, there's no way she'd be able to drive afterwards. has she did her prep? they don't go in til you're all cleaned out, literally
How do they know it's a bleeding ulcer? Have they done an MRI/endoscope yet? Sounds like they're doing the endoscope tomrrow, that's why they're drugging her up (drugs just make her groggy... she'll be able to walk with some assistance, but certainly won't be able to drive).
if it truly is an ucler, its probably not a big deal. They will most likely give her some antibiotics and a proton pump inhibitor or an H2 antagonist. IE prilosec, etc.
the procedure should only take like 30 minutes start to finish. its non-invasive and incredibly safe. She WILL be very groggy for most of the day and cannot drive, etc.
