too bloody many hours into it :p

The painting on the first one was done by a friend of mine @ an auto body shop, so i gotta give him full props for that ;)

the chrome molding can be had at most automotive stores, mine came from Pepboys. Its called "Car Door Edge Molding" like $4 for 4 feet..not bad stuff at all ;)

Hi, Great looking cases!

I haven't heard anything on "vinyl dyed" face plates before. Can you give more info or point me in the direction of an article discussing it?

I'm planning my own modding project now...

Thanks,

joel

Vinyl Dye is a type of paint sold at autobody shops. I got mine at a local PepBoys. It's the kind of stuff that's used to paint old vinyl car seats and things like that.

It's awesome. I don't have pics up anywhere, but I did my drive faces. It comes in a spray-paint can and stinks to high heaven, but I did one coat and it looked BEAUTIFUL. It goes on really even, almost like a thin thin layer of rubber. It's not very expensive ($4-5 for a can) and it's totally worth it. Check it out.
