My mobo is f#$&ing up during the Post Sequence! (Is it a Memory problem?)

I just got an Epox-8KHA+ (VIA 266A); I plugged all of my components in, put a new CPU (T-Bird 1.4Ghz) and stick of RAM in it, held my breathe and flipped the power on. The onboard diagnostics display 'C1' - which the motherboard manual states as 'Auto-detection of DRAM size, type and ECC' - and 'Auto-detection of L2 cache (socket 7 or below)'. So I'm guessing that it's not the latter since it's a Socket 462. I don't think my RAM is ECC, it doesn't specify anywhere on it. So what could be the problem?

Try to press down the rams a little after the white clipps have closed.
When the mobo is trying to boot it display "FF".

Yeah, according to This you either need to reseat the ram or it's not compatable with your board or you may have a bad stick.

I suggest putting only a vid card, 1 stick of RAM, Processor and Fan. Make sure these are all seated well. Sometimes it helps to seat the memory when the board is not in the case. this is because the MB is unsupported between either end of the memory socket, and the socket and board will flex when pushing in the memory. after you get a good post, start adding things one at a time🙂
