my milkman is a fricken moron

last night i left a note in the milkbox for the milk man to leave 4 gallons of milk and 1 gallon of chocolate milk. well this morning my wife goes out to get our weekly milk delivery from the milkbox and the fricken idiot left 2 gallons of milk and one 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk.

the milk comany only has milk in 1/2 gallon glass bottles so the moron saw bottles for the amount instead of gallons.

my wife called the dairy and the manager had the note that we left and he said that its pretty clear that we wanted 4 gallons (8 bottles)....

so i guess for now on we have to make sure we put down how many bottles we want because the milkman can fricken multiply by 2.

Haha - when I was a kid, we bought milk (non-homogenized, but pasteurized) directly from some farmers who lived a couple miles from our house. My mom still buys from them, I believe. Leave it in the fridge and you get skim on the bottom and heavy cream on the top

I lived between two towns - one pop ~900 and the other pop sub-100. Hated it out there overall, but it does have it's nice points.

its a cooler with "Carls Farms" imprinted on it. during the summer they will throw some ice in it to keep the milk cool.

yes, and butter, OJ, sour cream and other things like that. oh and the seasonal eggnog is to die for. the eggnog in the store is water compared to dairy eggnog.

Agreed - the taste is *completely* different. The stuff we used to get actually changed taste with the seasons - we could tell when the cows were moved from pasture to barn, where they'd get a different diet.

I think that is a business that needs to start up again. People will pay a premium for that service. I remember, as a kid, they delivered milk, sour cream, butter, and even ice cream, if you answered the door. Oh, the memories.
