The time has come for me to upgrade my system. Its been awhile, I currently have?

-Athlon 64 3000+
-768 mb DDR
-Radeon 9800 Pro

Now this is just going to be a mid-range upgrade, nothing that expensive. Here is what I have put together so far, let me know what you think.

CPU ? AMD 64 x2 4600+
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819103749
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819103751 ? whats the difference between the first cpu and this one?

Memory ? A-DATA 2GB DDR PC2 6400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820211066

Motherboard ? Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128034

Video Card
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950PRO 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814102061

I realize that the x1950 pro isn?t dx-10 ready but I?m not worried about that at all. When the time comes for DX10, I?ll buy a new card. Not interested in a 8600GTS.

I?m not sold on the motherboard yet. The first PC I built had a GB MB and it was great. That also has a couple awards and tons of great reviews on Newegg. I?m not an overclocker, btw.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Thanks for your time.

The first CPU will run cooler and consume less power then the second CPU. As for the ram, meh, I don't know if I should trust a-data. Maybe I'm just stupid, but for some reason I'd rather spend 10$ more on Corsair or OCZ ram instead. The videocard is good enough. If you're not a hardcore gamer then that card will be plenty fast, it's a huge upgrade over what you got.

The mobo, hmz, I actually don't know much about am2 mobo's. One thing that would be important to me is wether it is going to be compatible with phenom or not. You need a am2+ mobo for that. If they don't cost lots more money, then I would buy a am2+ mobo, so you can throw in a qaudcore in a year or so when you want to. Btw, in the specs it sais: Supports 1.8V DDR2 DIMMs

Not sure if that means the mobo simply won't be able to run 2.1v ddr2 dimms, but if it does, pick your ram accordingly.
