My microphone doesn't work

My mic just doesnt work, it's worked on other comps, but when i plug into my MIC jack, it doesn't pick up anything. Any known issues with this? Driver is outdated, from '03
 
Need more info... What model laptop? Any screen shots from audio settings? Screen shot from Audio configuration program in question? Updating the drivers may help, but if those drivers are the shipping drivers, they should definitely work. What are your audio recordings set to? What device is set to record? Screen shots will help a lot if you can...
