Here's the deal. One day I left my computer on while I went out. When I came back home, my power was out. The problem was fixed and my power was restored. I turned on my computer and it persisted "network cable is unplugged" even though it wasn't unplugged and I had used the internet right before I left the house that day. So then I try to record with my mic. It won't work. I hadn't changed any settings since the power outage, so this makes me think my motherboard is busted if both my internet and mic are broken, especially because my sound card is integrated into the motherboard.
I send my motherboard back to DFI and I specify the internet problem and that "mic input isn't recognize by the computer." They sent me the the motherboard back, I had my friend install it because I don't know how, and my internet works fine again. The mic? Not so much.
I have gone over every possible thing that could be my problem. The mic works fine and records on oher computers. I've checked all the Windows sound settings. I've tried every port just in case I'm made a mistake. To be sure I even did a system restore to 2 months again, when I am positive my mic used to work -- the mic still won't record. I get this loud fuzz and you can slightly hear me yelling "tesing" behind it all.
So what gives? Do I need to call DFI and have them fix this again? My sound card is integrated into my motherboard with is a DFI UT LANparty nF3 250gb. I absolutely must be able to record as I play guitar and am a "songwriter." Could it be anything else? Or should I call up DFI?
