first the gas mileage issue, then the rough idle issue, now I hear these annoying high pitched squeaks when I hit not entirely smooth roads....any here have a problem with a high pitched squeak sound (sounds kind of like metal on metal rubbing). I love this car, but these annoyances are starting to get to me:(

BTW, the car only has 1700 miles on it.

yeah, but will this fall under it? I thought it was for more specific things like failed parts such as fuel pumps.....

Also, i was confused when looking it up. How long does this law cover me?

Lemon laws vary from state to state. If you bought this new the dealer should have given you a handbook of your rights for your state.

Forget my dealer...they have been screwing me since day 1. I tried bringing this to their attention, but they keep saying they want a $150 fee just to check the car out. I also found out that the extended warrenty i signed up for never went through. i went to ask about my warrenty (wanted to know if it was transferrable) by calling the 1800 number and they responded with "Umm...there is no record of that contract". I got sick of dealing with the people about my extended warrenty that i finally said I wanted to "cancel". Now, i am trying to get my money back on a contract that was never even given to me and they just give me the run around.

Get in contact with Mazda's corporate office, I'm sure they would be ecstatic to hear about one of their dealers screwing you around like this. While you tell them how horrible their dealer is drop in that your car sucks too.

Mazda Corporate is notorious to be absolutely unhelpful in any issue known to man. Well, that's the way Mazda Canada is at least.

Looks like Mazda dealers have become as uppity as Toyota and Honda dealers, at least in this case.

I received much the same treatment with my '95 RX-7. I'd never buy a Mazda product again. Dodge either. The only two companies who have ever utterly screwed me with crap cars and crap service.

If Mazda won't help, your State AG probably will. And if not, try the FTC. Seriously, the law is pretty sensitive when it comes to people getting screwed on a big purchase. A car falls into the big purchase category for most Americans.

You bought this car new? Tell the dealer to fix these issues under warranty, period. If they won't do it, take it to another dealer. I bought my Honda certified-used, noted a few issues in the first few months of driving, and the dealer replaced both sun-visors, a grab handle, and a fusebox for free, without questioning it.

IIRC, lemon laws generally only apply to multiple occurrences of the same issue. a car that just has a lot of separate problems doesn't necessarily apply.

The RX7 will always remain my favorite car though, no matter the problems
