my Maxtor 200G KLINKS

it makes a klingking noise a few times a day.

metal tapping on metal noises

makes me a bit nervous..

should i be worried?

if it's a 200 gig I'm guessing it's still covered by warranty. I would just RMA it, Maxtor makes it pretty easy.

Back up any files you have on there that you want to keep. I have a 120 Gig that is a couple of month old that did the same thing for a couple of days now the bios won't even detect it. Maxtor's utilities does't find it either.

Anyhow run Maxtor's utility software and see if it finds anything.

worst case scenario: its goin fail when its starts clickign so back ur stuff up FAST

best case scenario: ur not supplying enough power. My maxtor started clicking on me when i added in some case fans and another hdd. anyways BACk UR STUFF UP
