I originally thought maybe windows was giving me a wrong reading (and it may still be doing that). I downloaded a program called Astra32, and it is a detailed sysinfo program. It read the cpu speed as 1607 mhz, so again, that's short of the published 1.8 ghz value.
Am I missing something? Is there a better way to test this? If it turns out the CPU is actually slower, that is grounds to return it to BB right? I got this today (after returning a laptop i thought was defective; bought 4 days ago). Any help is appreciated.
-nm- my fault, the power settings were wrong, it was set never to hit peak...weird.
