My Little Problem

I need a way to hook up an additional gameport to my PC. The deal is that my IWill KK266+ has major issues with USB. I've tried everything and gave up months ago. Luckily my joystick (flight sim freak) can be either USB or on the gameport with an adapter. Now, my gameport on my Santa Cruz sound card has apparently gone bad. Again, I 've tried everything including different joysticks. I love my Santa Cruz and don't want to replace it. Is there some sort of cheap PCI card with a gameport I can buy that will allow me to keep my SC sound in place? What if I put two sound cards in my Win ME system since I have an old SB PCI 128? Am I asking for big problems?
Thanks!

Ya know, you guys are really great on this forum. Nine outta ten times I can get help within hours. Thanks for the little tip about the USB PCI card. I wasn't aware such a thing existed. My problem is half solved however. I stayed up all night and had a major breakthrough!! I ran across an obscure little post from four months ago at amdmb.com. People were having severe problems with shutdown (endless on/off cycling) when a USB device was plugged in (that was me). The latest BIOS at the time was supposed to have fixed it, but it didn't work. One guy simply cleared CMOS after flashing to the new BIOS and his problem was solved. I tried that last night and Bingo!! I now have functional USB on my IWill KK266 Plus! Pages and pages of suggestions at USBman.com did not help, but this one little thing was the answer. Geez....computers are really tricky sometimes.

As to my defective gameport on my Santa Cruz, It seems to work with my Logitech steering wheel, but calibration is a bit funky. I went all through the Turtle Beach site and there's lots of stuff on "unrecognized joysticks". None of them worked for me; but I no longer care because I have USB for my joystick. Life is good, and so are you guys. 🙂

Cheers,
