woohoo!

the first time, i was sitting next to her playing with her toys, since that's what i usually do when i'm in charge, and she sort of just stood up from her usual squat, only this time without propping herself up on my leg first.

after about a second she just sat back down and it happened so suddenly i wasn't sure if it actually had happened.

so when the wife got home i told her what happened and we tried standing the girl up again and she actually stood there for a few seconds before falling back to her squat.

it was an amazing and wonderful experience.

just wanted to share.

woohooo...congrats!

but dont be in a hurry for her to learn to walk. Its much easier when they are immobile.

BTW, how old?

it's funny, but that's what all the parents have been telling us. you can't wait for them to walk and talk but then you end up constantly telling them to sit down and be quiet ;)

she's 9 months old.

yeah we have to get going with the childproofing of everything now.

install gates, remove furniture with hard corners or edges, install cabinet locks, outlet plugs, lock the liquor cabinet...:)

it's still just so amazing watching her grow though.

we're hoping she somehow just naturally picks up on how to do the whole potty thing. unfortunately, i doubt that will happen.

It's so exciting when they accomplish that next stage! My son was walking at 9 months, just a couple steps, but walking non the less!

My house suddenly became decorated in a minimalist kind of style! He's two now, and I'm just being able to move things back down! Mind you I'm 3 months pregnant, so I suppose we'll be doing it all over again!

I would'nt trade any of it for the world though! :D
