My life just went to hell...

My 16 yr old brother ran away from home this morning and I have felt convuslive ulcers in my stomach for the last 48 hours. My mom is freaking out and my grampa is a senile retard who apparently knew about my brother's plan but thought he could handle it.

And its only 10:22 am....

I might be in the ER or dead by noon the way things are going...

Update: I forgot to mention I am missing my law school classes and we are ~3 weeks away from exams, I have been having uncontrolled panic attacks for the last 6 months, I have high blood pressure, my mom is a wreck because of my brother, and a few other things...

I know I still have it better than a LOT of people, but man, I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel right now.

Look at some of the stickied threads then reassess your current take on life.

Yeah, he will probably shack up with his girlfriend or something. He'll contact you guys when he is ready. At least you know he left on his own, and you can rest assured that nothing has happenned to him in the short term.

Good luck with dealing with this, but 16 year olds these days can take care of themselves.

If you assess the current situation as your life going to hell then you have a shocker coming when you actually grow up and become an adult.

Indeed. This just qualifies as a moderately bad day (there will be many more).

1. get the fvck off AT and attend to your life
2. calm hysterical parent
3. go to doctor/hospital
4. look for your brother/call police

Stop worrying, you should be planning out your own route of escape.

You need to find a way to get a handle on yourself. If you go to pieces in school the real world is going to devastate you. School is easy. You should seriously seek some help.

Sounds like it. You cannot function as an adult in a REAL job if you are having panic attacks.

heh.. actually that is true. It is regarded as among the worst experiences people in America can have outside of physical injury situations.

It isn't a mystery why so many lawyers turn to drugs and alcohol.

Whatever you need to tell yourself. I know people that couldn't handle a simple Science based undergrad that had no problems with law school. School is easy and what you make of it. Most stress in life is self created.

If you are having ulcers and panic attacks you need to talk to someone who is either a professional (if you have the money) or has some training.

Uh, law school isnt just school. Law school is one of the hardest things to do in life, it is certainly not easy. Its quite common for alot of law students to have issues their first semester of law school.
