To make a long story short I recently sold a freezer on craigslist to a guy who was moving here from the UK. The freezer was sold for $250, but the guy said he accidentally sent me a cashiers check for $3000 and that when I received the check I was to take it to a Cashing Outlet, Cash it, then send the remaining money to him in the UK via Western Union, then a shipper would come and pick the freezer up.

I was very skeptical especially since I did not get a return address or phone number, so I decided not to take it to a cashing outlet but a bank to see if they could authenticate it. At the bank they told me the account on the check was not real and it was indeed a counterfeit check. I emailed the guy back and told him I knew about his scam and I wasn?t going to fall for it. He has now been sending me emails telling me that he is going to kill me soon unless I send him his money. I received about 4 of these such emails.

My question to you guys is who can I report this to? Is there anyway to track this guy down by his IP or can I report it to his domain, which is yahoo? Please keep in mind this guy now has my home address.

Craigslist already has had plenty of experience with these scams as you can see if you visit the link below.

Ouch, you're in some trouble if I do say so myself.

Call the local authorities if nothing else, just to alert them.

what a jackass.... really.... I'd have fun killing him. His head + my curb + my timberlands. the fsker wouldnt stand a chance and I'd set it up so I'd get away with it scot free.

Just ignore it. He's not going to kill you, he's just trying to intimidate you into sending free money.

kill him.

tell the cops you felt threatened when you decided to back out of the deal at the last minute and he wouldn't "let you"

Umm this isnt a Parody thread. And as far as I know it is not stupid to give someone your address when they buy an item off of you through craigslist.

 
Ask him for his address because you are scared and want to send him the money that he is asking for. Then fly there and beat his ass into the fvcking ground. Pour gasoline on him and light em up. Chop off his head, arms, and legs and send them to his parents.
 
Ask him where to send the money.

Then tell him that you have turned all his info over to the local authorities and contacted interpol and that if he ever contacts you again, you will file harrassment charges.

Might work, might not. If you suddenly disappear, we will know it is the latter.
