It's been twitching the whole day. What is the cause of this and how do I make it stop?

don't worry, it's just the alien trying to break out.

it'll all be over soon.

It happens, usually because of stress. Get a good night's rest and it'll go away.

I had one like this that lasted a few months. Went away on its own. It was annoying as shit, but at least it doesn't mean anything serious.

i thought it was when your nose itched. Or maybe your nose itches when someone is just THINKING about you...not talking. maybe thats the difference.

Stress/caffeine induced. Over the summer I was drinking too much caffeine and my eye started twitching so I stopped drinking caffeine cold turkey. My left eye twitched involuntarily for the next two months. I then tried drinking caffeine and guess what? The twitch went away. The next week I stopped caffeine again and the twitching is back. I think I have a physical addiction to caffeine. Ah.

This happened to my outer left eye last week and it was SOOOOOO ANNOYING. It lasted for about 2 days because I was barely functioning on 4 hours of sleep a day.

During the weekend I crashed hard and slept 12 hours a day. Now it's gone, for now.

There are various causes of eye twitching in its serious and not so serious formats. The more common causes for eye twitching include:

* Corneal irritation or injury
* Stress
* Lack of sleep
* Fatigue
* Prolonged staring or eye strain
* Rosie O'Donnell
* Neurological disorders
* Possibly Hereditary

I used to get that all the time when I drove for a living ... with me it was caused by the 1000-yard stare down the highway for hours on end combined with not getting enough sleep for extended periods.

Three cases of Red Bull every day probably didn't help things. :p

Very true ... although red Bull didn't exist back then so it was coffee and/or Jolt cola!
