My LCD tv plays movies and shows at weird speed...

Hey guys... I just got my first LCD tv and I ended up getting a VIZIO 42 inch LCD from Wal-Mart... Model E421VA 120hz 1080p...

I notice that most/all TV channels and DVDs I watch play the video at a slightly faster speed or something. I actually don't know any technical terms for the effect I am seeing but basically it is like the difference between a cinematic movie vs a soap opera or a British television show. Its as if the video is moving at exactly the speed of "real life"... and I think normally video is slowed down fractions of a second to give it more of a solid movie feel of scene movement but its not like that for my tv.

I can't explain it any better than that... does anyone know what I'm talking about? What should I look into for this?

btw: I dont have HD tv channels or anything but I honestly dont think this has to do with what I am experiencing... and as I said, DVDs have the effect too. I've also changed settings from wide zoom and normal, and nothing changes it.

Thanks

It's frame interpolation/motion enhancement/whatever the brand calls it. There should be a setting to turn off motion enhancement.

I think vizio calls it "smooth motion".

vi edit: Thanks man.. that was it. It was on the low setting and I turned it off and now it looks normal. It was driving me INSANE.
