My laptop...

🙁 dang...I lost almost all of my photoshop files...

;_; (cries)

but the good thing...it's still on warranty. I wonder how it borked out =(, it made the sound of a scratch disk, kinda saddening.

Toss it out the window from the 3rd floor and then see if it works.

Just kidding... You could try putting it in the freezer overnight (in a zip lock bag) and trying it cold just to rescue files.

4200, 5400 or 7200RPM HD?

I'm really not sure about the HD...the laptop is at least 3 years old.

The model is Ze5375 , HP (shrugs)

I just went the Best Buy a couple of days back, right now the lappy is on its way for a repair.

Get an adapter so you can hook it up to a desktop hot swappable enclosuer. You don't wanna waste time by booting from the damn thing. Just plug it in and start copying the most important stuff first.

The HDD was not funcitoning properly 🙁 it makes crazy hard scratching noises. oh well >.>

On an unrelated note, I thought my laptop was uber slow either because the 5400rpm Toshiba was going, or some RAM I put in was bad. Turned out that some programs I had installed, though not setup to start with windows, was a lot of bloatware, making the computer extremely slow on bootup. Got rid of about 8 programs, now everything is zippy again.
